Construction Progress as of 9/24/09
The $17 million new Borgess Gardens, located within the Nazareth Campus on Gull Road in Kalamazoo will be a haven of caring and healing–the first new nursing home built in our community in 20 years.
The new Borgess Gardens will cost $17 million. A generous grant of $5.4 million, from the Van Domelen Foundation and Bill and Julia Van Domelen, has been donated for the new home.
The main 101-bed facility for skilled nursing home residents and inpatient rehabilitation is expected to be complete by mid-2009. An intimate, personal environment will give residents an even healthier place to call home, complete with skilled nursing, assistance with activities of daily living, rehabilitation, mental health services, and end of life care.
When you give to the Borgess Foundation’s Habitat for Healing Campaign, you are helping to create this much-needed facility and enhance long term care services for area residents who are frail, disabled, or elderly.
