A Legacy Of Caring

Borgess Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Borgess Health, a member of Ascension Health.

Philanthropy has been a source of vitality for the Borgess Health care mission since the very beginning. In 1889 Bishop Casper H. Borgess of Detroit donated $5,000 from his mother’s estate to Monsignor Francis O’Brien with instructions to build a hospital in Kalamazoo, Michigan. That generosity was the seed of what has now grown into Borgess Health – a sophisticated local health network, serving an 11-county area of southwest and south central Michigan.

The generosity of individuals just like you, businesses and organizations has played an essential role in every major development, large building project, and each new era of health care at Borgess. Since 1972, the Borgess Foundation has helped to continue the rich tradition of philanthropy in support of health care and related services at Borgess.

Your support will help to ensure the future of “Innovative medicine…inspired care.”
