August “Gus” Roty, Jr., MD, was an influential surgeon, great teacher and esteemed colleague. Even more than that, he truly knew how to care for people. The devotion he showed to his patients and the way in which he treated them with dignity showed his warm and loving nature. In November, 2006, Borgess Medical Center officially dedicated the “August R. Roty, Jr. MD Outpatient Surgery Center.” The dedication was made possible through generous contributions to the Borgess Foundation’s Habitat for Healing Campaign made in Dr. Roty’s memory.
“Dr. Roty was a man of integrity and high moral standards,” Terry Baxter, MD, Chief Medical Officer, Borgess Medical Center, recalls. “He helped everyone around him his entire life. It is only fitting that his name now graces our outpatient surgery center.”
Along with the help of generous people just like you, the Borgess Foundation received phenomenal support from the physician campaign leadership who successfully exceeded their goals during the initial phase of the Habitat for Healing Campaign.
